Musings of an actor.

So today, I filmed (finally) my piece for LOYALTY. (For those who don’t know, I’m an actor, hi!)

I want to talk about that a little and my experience there. When I first arrived on set it was with Monk, my housemate and I have to admit, I was incredibly nervous. I needn’t have been though. It took me a little while to get into the swing of things but once I did, it was a great feeling. And that’s largely due to Kaz.

Kaz is an interesting man. Very different to me in many ways as seen here:

See? Mr. Axe himself. But he’s also a great dude. Just very accomodating as an actor, very inspiring and very professional. It was my first time doing any action stuff on film, but he let me right in and taught me a lot of cool stuff. Not just in scene either.

I remember lunch today, eating lunc with Jake and Kaz, James and some dude I can’t remember, let’s call him Bruce. They decided to make fun of me (James and Bruce) for being a fan of David Tennant, which I have to admit, hurt quite a bit because he’s such a hero to me. All in good fun though. This carried on into the filming itself and I tried my best to ignore it and Kaz really ripped into Bruce who was still having a go at me, saying “”Technically” you should be letting him do his scene, you’re being fucking distracting.” This shut Bruce way up and he kind of warmed up to me after that and we had a good chat.

It wasn’t just that though, he took the time to show me his replica guns when I asked about them and showed me how they worked, in detail. It was really quite a humbling experience all round. His friendliness and his willingness to commit really helped me bring out my A game, which I needed, being strung up and tortured like I was in the scene.

But not only that, I realized as I laughed along with Jake and Kaz and everyone else, that I really enjoy being an actor. I really do. Jake’s a great director and I really look forward to seeing the online promo in a few months.

It was very hard performing the way I was again and again but Kaz really helped me bring out a performance I’m truly proud of, something I haven’t said in yonks.

So without further ado- Check out some pics from LOYALTY!
